Our Preschool Curriculum

Our educational curriculum provides children with a foundation of learning through hands-on experiences. We offer a thematic curriculum with enrichment opportunities for experimenting, problem solving and creativity.

Morning Sessions T/TH (2 days) 9:00 - 11:30 am (2.5 hours)

This class is designed for our 2 1/2 - 31/2 year olds. They must be potty trained. Giggly Wiggly offers a fun, safe, and loving environment which enables students to explore and learn through creative art and play. We offer hands-on learning so children can experience using all five senses as they discover the world around them. Students are introduced to appropriate social skills such as sharing, cooperating, taking turns, respect for others and manners. We also encourage developing listening skills and becoming independent learners. Our day consists of unstructured learning time, and structured activities such as circle time where we offer enrichment through songs, finger play and stories. Hands-on activities are emphasized as we reinforce the theme of the day. Students develop skills in color and shape recognition, using imagination, painting, sequencing, sorting, science and art.

Morning Sessions M/W/F (3 days) 8:30 -11:30 am (3 hours)

This class is designed for older three year olds and four year olds. Our thematic hands-on curriculum revolves around the alphabet. Each week a new letter of the alphabet is introduced with a phonics box. Our students utilize all five senses as they learn together. We offer activity centers (learning stations) for creative play, sensory table, science, manipulative/math, library/language, dramatic play and art. Our Pre-K kids will work on upper and lower case recognition and writing, pre-math and pre-reading. Our students will develop self confidence as they gain proficiency in problem solving, listening skills, conflict resolution, number concepts and identification, and working independently. We also include activities to encourage mastery of cutting with scissors, classification, sequencing, patterning, and visual discrimination.

Afternoon Sessions M/Tu/Thu (3 days) 12:00 - 3:30 pm (3.5 hours)
-or- M/T/Th/Fr (4 days) 12:00 - 3:30 pm (3.5 hours)

This class is designed for Pre-K students only. All students must be four years old by August 31st. We follow the 3-day AM curriculum above, but benefit from additional socialization as the students bring their lunch to school and eat with their classmates each day. Our Pre-K students "publish" a bound alphabet book that they create and take home at the end of the year. Our philosophy is that learning is a creative process and should always be fun.
